About the Project
About the Project
The project prepared by Eskişehir AFAD with EU grant support by the Turkish National Agency was carried out under the title of Erasmus+ Cooperation Partnership for Developing Innovations in Vocational Education. The project covers the issues of “establishing methodologies for searching and rescuing missing people with Alzheimer’s and dementia, increasing the professional knowledge and skills capacity of first responders in this regard, and contributing to the development of methods that take into account Alzheimer’s and dementia as a vulnerable group in disaster and emergency planning.” The project developed distance learning-based digital training outputs that will provide search and rescue teams, first responders, and law enforcement officers with intervention and search and rescue knowledge and skills specific to missing people with Alzheimer’s cases. In addition, content was developed on the measures that families and support network members can take to prevent strays from turning into missing people and communication skills with professional teams.
